Born with a name shared by thousands in China, Tingting Liu decided to make everything else about her art uncommon. Now based in Baltimore, she's a creative chameleon who shape-shifts between illustration, graphic design, and motion design - occasionally sneaking music and fiction into the mix when no one's looking.
Armed with graffiti sprays and collage scissors, she crafts visual stories that dance between nostalgia and now. Her work is a love letter to pop culture through the decades, filtered through the lens of a Chinese millennial who grew up doodling in literature textbooks at Nanjing University before earning her MA in Illustration at MICA.
Whether she's exploring human connections or pondering how we all fit into this weird, wonderful world, Tingting’s art remains stubbornly personal yet surprisingly universal - kind of like finding your own story hidden in someone else's diary.
